Safe, healthy, appealing, and inclusive eating at college is a prerequisite for finding the best college fit. SafeTable Solutions offers guidance on navigating the college search process, making the most of your college visits, and preparing for accommodations once an admitted student. For instance, here are some questions to think about: (1) Does the college offer a dining station free of the “Top 9” most common allergens, and is it open for every meal? (2) Are ingredients labeled, allergens identified, and the dining staff members trained to handle cross-contact? (3) Does the Disability Office coordinate dining and housing accommodations? (4) What are the housing options and requirements?

STS offers a series of three asynchronous online classes to teach parents/teens how to navigate the college search process with FA, as well as two individualized service levels so you can choose a solution tailored to your needs:

Safe and Inclusive Eating on Campus

For All Students

The Problem

7-11% of college-aged students in the U.S. have food allergies, and the numbers are rising

Severe Food Allergies (FA) are protected by the American Disabilities Act

Anaphylaxis occurs disproportionately among college-aged individuals

Colleges vary in their ability to offer safe, accessible & appealing food service for students with dietary restrictions

SafeTable Solutions (STS) seeks to identify a safe, inclusive, and equitable college experience—in the dining halls and beyond—for students with severe food allergies and celiac disease (”FA”) by providing support to students and parents during the college search process and transition to college. STS currently offers both individualized advising for families, and also online classes to teach parents/teens how to navigate the college search process with FA.
